Good morning Sunshine! It's Wed, the sun is shining, it's going to be another beautiful spring day here in Wisconsin! Today is self-care day....let's talk about that...what does that look like for you? Remember the day is a blank slate, you are the artist and you get to paint whatever kind of picture you want!!!
SELF-CARE DAY:
I am going to look for jobs and check on all the apps that are out there for about 2 hours this morning.....REMEMBER TO SET YOUR TIMER.
Then I am going to get ready and get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful weather.....maybe take myself to lunch pending on the time I get out of here.......Grizzly's salad sounds really good. Maybe browse a few antique stores and maybe stroll along the river. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR AIRPODS and you can listen to either the book you are reading or a podcast or two. Connect with yourself, connect with nature, get out of the house and enjoy your day Boo!
So.....something I find very interesting.........I have a thought "this week is going much better than last week".
First:
This thought puts a negative spin on last week. Last week wasn't a bad week......it was just a week. Keep showing yourself these kind of thoughts Kammy because good/bad is also black/white thinking.
Second:
It's all in the thoughts......remember Kammy:
Your thoughts create your feelings.
Your feelings create your actions.
Your actions create your results.
Your results create your life!
Also remember:
You cannot control the thoughts that enter your head. I know I have said this to myself a million times but this fact is worth pointing out again and again........you cannot control the thoughts that enter your head. Where my power is, is what I choose to do with the thoughts......and I have 3 options available at any given time.
Keep the thought.
Delete the thought.
Change the thought.
So let's take the thought "this week is going much better than last week".
What do you want to do with this thought?????
I choose to change the thought to what else is also true......and that is I am managing my thoughts much better this week. This is why I think this week is going better than last week. I am not spinning in thoughts near as much and when I catch myself spinning, I pause, I breathe, and then I move in a direction that creates forward motion for myself. Now isn't that really the ultimate form of self care for yourself? Remember the time when self care = bubble baths and shopping sprees? While those things can still be self care moments, the ultimate self care is when you manage your mind.
You had a thought last week that helped to create the "hard" you were feeling....and that is "I am f&%ing tired of managing my brain". And here you are this week, talking about how managing your brain is the ultimate self care gift you can give yourself. It's all what you do with the thoughts Kammy.
