Now on to today's topic.....Celebrating you!

I believe self-love is very important and it is something we don’t always think about and then when we do think about self-love and self-care we think about bubble baths and shopping sprees. It is so much more than that! Remember:

Self-love is an unconditional beliefe that you are worthy of your own love without conditions, achievements or acceptance of others.

Today I want to touch on the self-love gesture to yourself of recognizing when you have done a good job and you celebrating yourself in the moment.

When was the last time you told yourself “Great job self!” after something you have achieved? When was the last time you looked at yourself in the mirror after a long day and told yourself “thank you” for having your own back and for all the things you accomplished that day?

We’re really bad at recognizing when we’ve done a good job.

Have you ever been in a situation where you worked really hard on something and felt pretty good about the quality of your work, but you waited to get feedback from other people? This is a people-pleasing moment. This is you waiting for someone else's recognition and waiting for their acceptance.

Feedback is necessary if you are working on improving your skills. The problem is that we rely too heavily on other people to tell us that we’ve done something right. The person you should rely on the most is yourself.

When you rely on other people you are handing out your power to the other people. Don’t hand YOUR power out to them! Keep your power for yourself.

When you keep this power to yourself you start to appreciate yourself more. We are raised in a society that discourages us from giving ourselves credit. Society says this is cocky or conceited. It is YOUR JOB to take care of you.

Self-love means taking care of your own needs and not sacrificing your well-being to please others.

It’s your job to keep track of your accomplishments because no one else is going to do this for you. Take time to write down your accomplishments. This is a great thing to do on a monthly basis. This is not conceited or cocky.

Here are 3 reasons why writing down your accomplishments helps you:

1. You will be able to access and recognize progress you have made.

2. Writing down your wins creates confidence

3. You learn more about yourself.

HOMEWORK:

Take some time this week to answer these questions for yourself:

1. Ask yourself what you were doing a year ago. Here are of areas of life I focus on: I encourage you to make your own list of the areas of life you want to focus on for you.

Personal self

Spiritual

Relationships

Career

Financial

Fitness

Fun/Recreation

2. What are some areas you are totally kicking ass in lately?

3. What are you proud of that you have accomplished? What happened to make you feel proud of yourself?

Just as we have a bucket list of things we want to accomplish, see or do in life, start an “Accomplishment journal”. Write down when you figured out how to do something, make something, or overcome something, really anything that makes you whisper to yourself “YES, I DID IT!”

Self-love means having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness.

Self-love is a state of appreciate for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth.

Celebrate YOU today!

Hugs,

Coach Kammy
